This leads to many other JKA England instructors being invited to teach on this platform – including to date Sensei Gary, Sensei Dave, Sensei Miranda, Sensei Bianca, Sensei Martyn, Sensei Aaron, Sensei Chris.
May 2020 – JKA England starts what turns into year long series of, often sold out, online training sessions lead by Sensei Ohta and reaching a worldwide audience with friends joining around from England, Wales and Scotland plus Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Russia, Finland, Norway, Cyprus, Israel, UAE, India, Australia, Canada, USA and Brazil. A few even joined from other shotokan organisations…
July 2020 – Socially distanced squad training returns on the day England reopens gyms to group classes, no kumite but lots of kihon and kata!
September 2020 – Squad training returns to home base in Westminster with socially distanced kumite drills plus lots of kihon and kata!
October 2020 – JKA England holds a very successful, socially distanced examination for international qualifications. For anyone who thought it might be easier or less stressful in front of Technical instead of Honbu they were wrong!
February 2021 – JKA England hosts our largest ever Referee Course via zoom using the technology to watch critical referee moments with Sensei Ohta’s commentary about the decision and lots of flag practice.
