National courses are a vital part of training for all students. They are especially important for brown belts preparing for their Shodan grading and black belts wanting to stay current with the latest developments in kata and technique. These events are exclusively for JKA members.
Students of all levels, including kyu grades, are warmly welcome. The course includes regular breaks, and younger students are free to leave during a break if needed.
Grading Information
Grading fees and, if pass, dan registration fee must be paid in cash on the day.
Pre-registration is required – speak to your Chief Instructor or email technical@jka-england.org.
Attendance at the course is mandatory if you plan to grade.
Eligibility Requirements:
To grade for Shodan or Nidan, you must have attended at least one other JKA international, national, or regional course within the last year.
To attempt Sandan, you must have attended all three days of a JKA England international course in the previous year.

JKA England will refund any course fees should the event be cancelled, or the date changed (if the new date is not suitable).
