London & S E Regional Competition

The first London & SE Regional competition took place on Sunday 13th November 2011 at the Walton on Thames Excel Leisure Centre. There were 47 categories in Kata and Kumite. It was a great success with more than 300 entrants and there were also substantial numbers of spectators which created a good atmosphere for the event.

Bristol JKA is pleased to open a new Bristol University dojo on Thursday evenings from 3rd November, with training from 7pm-8.30pm! The venue is Bristol University Sports Centre studio 2, with mirrors and sprung floor.

50 students went. Sensei Ohta took us. There was Sensei Mick there, Sensei David, Sensei Wayne, and Sensei Ohta and more. We first did our warm up then all of the senseis were sweating, doing the warm up. Then we moved on to basics.

First Central Region Kata Course

Tairyoku SKC were the hosts for the first Central Region Kata Course with JKA England Technical Director, Sensei Adel Ismail held at Honbu, Bierton dojo. Norton Radstock JKA a hit with Keynsham Mencap!

A new JKA club has opened in Bridport, Dorset with Instructor Andy Townsend 2nd Dan opening a club at Forster Memorial Hall in Bradpole (on the outskirts of Bridport) on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30.

Beckenham Shotokan Karate Club

Beckenham Shotokan Karate Club sponsored a katathon on Saturday, 12 February 2011 in support of the Dreams Come True charity. Sensei Roger Fabri put the club through their paces with an exhausting hour-long training, followed by two hours of non-stop katas.

Bristol JKA expands!

To start 2011 with a bang, Bristol JKA is expanding by offering an additional dojo in the South of the city, to add to the existing central one at Kingsdown. The new dojo is at The Southville Centre, Beauley Road, Southville BS3 1QG. This is in the heart of a vibrant community and already offers Judo, Tai Chi, Taekwondo and Krav Maga.
