Norton Radstock JKA a hit with Keynsham Mencap!

17TH July 2011

Keynsham and District Mencap members and support staff with Norton Radstock JKA instructors.Following on from the successful activities sessions at Three Ways and Fosse Way special schools, Norton Radstock instructors, Mark Reeve 4th Dan JKA, Rob Tidbury 4th Dan JKA, Steve Harris 2nd Dan JKA and Geoff Hooper 1st Dan JKA, brought JKA karate to the members of Keynsham and District Mencap Society 18+ Club at their club headquarters on Thursday 30 June.

Led by Steve, the instructors once again demonstrated how to make defensive blocks and how to attack with punches and kicks, which the twenty or so adults and their helpers copied with great concentration and enthusiasm. The enthusiasm and effort displayed by those who attended was nothing less than amazing and typified by the rousing kiais that almost raised the roof off the hall.

At the end of the session, Mark and Rob give a demonstration of jiyu kumite, with both Steve and Geoff encouraging the members to cheer loudly for them both. The session ended with a group photograph and thanks all round, for a very enjoyable and memorable experience and one that the Instructors will never forget.
