On the evening of Thursday 17th February 2011 Harpenden JKA Karate Club spent one hour non-stop punching, kicking, and blocking, completing over 1,800 techniques and 11 kihon katas to raise £724 for the charity Dreams Come True. This was part of a series of national events held by the Japan Karate Association in England to raise a big donation to the charity to be presented at the JKA European Karate Championships in K2, Crawley, on 2 April 2011.

Sensei Simon said he was extremely proud of the efforts everyone put in to the evening. Our youngest member earned admiration for his energy which put the duracell rabbit to shame. Sensei's son Michael, a beginner, joined in the evening and you can see how he was welcomed on the Harpenden JKA facebook page
